Many gamers who have perfectly mastered the classic version of Minecraft dream of revealing it from unexpected sides, getting new gaming opportunities in it. Plugins can help with this - special software products that are built into the game client and add new properties of objects, options for character actions, etc. However, such add-ons must be installed correctly.

Necessary

  • - plugin installer
  • - administrator privileges on a multi-user resource

Instructions

Step 1

Plugins are more about multiplayer resources than single player gameplay. Remember this when you decide to start installing such software products. The most popular and well-known ones are made to create specific server configurations, and in many cases this applies to Bukkit playgrounds. For a single player game, various mods are more suitable for you. Therefore, if you do not plan to create a server, it is better to add modifications with the properties you need to Minecraft.

Step 2

If you have your own multi-user resource, try to build the necessary plugins into it. In this case, in the case when you do not have a server yet, first create it. Download the archive with its installer from the official Minecraft website or Bukkit. Make a folder for server documents on your computer and save the installation file there. Run it in order to start generating the virtual world of Minecraft and the files necessary for its existence. Make adjustments to server.properties to customize your playground settings.

Step 3

Download the installation files (usually they have the.jar extension) of plugins that will need to equip your server with the required number of commands - depending on what characteristics you imagine it with. For example, to be able to edit the world: save, copy and move any of its objects, you will need WorldEdit, to privatize individual items and territories - WorldGuard, etc. You can also, following the example of many, choose plugins to create clans, stores for resale players of resources, quizzes, etc.

Step 4

For subsequent actions, obtain the authority of the administrator of your game resource: make sure that your nickname is entered in the server ops file. Now log in and go to the FTP manager in order to gain access to editing documents that control the operation of the server. If this game resource works from your computer, just open the appropriate directory where the above documents are saved. Find among its folders the one designated as plugins. Move the installation file of the required plugin there.

Step 5

Restart the server and wait for the automatic installation of the software product you added. Stop the playground console and close it. On a new start, the server will function already with the plugin. Update the latter periodically to keep it consistent with newer versions of Minecraft and add even more features to the gameplay. To do this, create an update folder in the plugins server directory and upload a new version of your plugin there (of course, download it from a reliable source first). After restarting the server, it will automatically install itself.
