A host is a device designed to provide a client-server service in server mode. Often, a host refers to any server computer connected to a local network or the Internet. If you want to determine the host of a domain, there are several ways to do this.
Instructions
Step 1
If the domain was purchased from Google services, it will be hosted by one of Google's partners, GoDaddy.com or eNom.com. To more accurately identify the host, log into the service admin control panel. To do this, enter the address https:// google.com/a/name.com in the browser line. In this case, replace name.com with the domain name. Look for the hostname in the domain settings, in the domain names tab.
Step 2
If the domain was not purchased from Google, search the host using the whois database. You can find a free whois database by entering the query "free whois" into the search box of any search engine (Yandex, Googl). From the search results, select a company that provides a free whois query service. The largest sites that provide such services and are not affiliated with Google are Network-Tools.com and Kloth.net. On the company's website, enter the domain name in the field and send a request. In response, you will receive not only the name of the domain registrar, but also at least two servers of this domain.
Step 3
There is another way to find the server on the NS name server. Enter NS lookup in a search engine field. From the search results, select a company that provides server name lookup services through queries. By the way, the aforementioned company Kloth.net is the most popular among sites looking for servers through a nameserver. On the site of your choice, enter the domain name in the field, and when submitting the request, click the Any Record line to show all records or NS Record to show only NS records. The search result will be a list of server names for a specific domain.
Step 4
Summarize your searches. In most cases, the domain registrar name will be the hostname at the same time. Remember that the registrar is only listed when querying the whois database. But hosting can also be provided by some intermediary. In the latter case, the server names will contain information about the hostname.
