After completing work on creating a site on a personal computer, the developer, web designer or programmer proceeds to the next important point. It consists in uploading all files and folders to the host server. There are several ways to accomplish this procedure.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to your hosting control panel. Click the Upload files to server button and specify the required documents. At first glance, this method is very simple, but inconvenient if you need to download a large amount of information or different types of files. In this regard, web designers recommend using special programs for uploading to the host server.
Step 2
Install the FileZilla ftp manager or whatever app you like best. The specified client for uploading files to a remote server is one of the most popular among the free products. You can download this application on the Internet at any of the specialized sites, having checked the file before that for viruses. Install and launch FileZilla.
Step 3
Click on the "File" menu and go to the "Site Manager" section. A window will appear in which you must mark the registration data that you were given when purchasing access to the remote server. In the "host" field, mark the IP address of the server. In the field "User" and "Password" enter your username and password. Expand the "Input Type" list and select "Normal". Save the settings and click the "Connect" button.
Step 4
Wait for the connection to the host server. As a result, a directory consisting of two parts will be loaded: on the left - your files, and on the right - files on the server. Select the "public_html" folder on the server where you want to upload the files you need.
Step 5
Select all the files on the left that you want to upload to the host server using the Ctrl + A key combination. Right-click on the selected files and select "Download". Wait for the download to finish, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on the amount of information. Notice that after filling, there are three tabs at the bottom of the page. Open Failed Transfers and check the files that could not be copied. Repeat the transfer process.
