Launched in 2009, the Pinterest project is something like a large virtual board on which users of the service can post images found on the Internet. Pictures, previews of which are sorted by thematic collections, are not uploaded to the service, but are located on the sites where they were found. A special tool is used to pin the image to the virtual Pinterest board.
In order to collect collections of images you like on Pinterest, you need to register on this service. This can be done using a Facebook or Twitter account. It is enough to click on the Login button located in the upper right part of the service main page window and select the icon of the desired social network. Logging into Pinterest in this way, you should specify in the fields of the form that appears on the page, the password and login for the account you are creating. An email will be sent to the email address specified when registering on Facebook or Twitter within a few seconds with a link to confirm your email address. After clicking on the link contained in the message, your account on Pinterest will be created and ready to use.
One of the easiest ways to add pictures to your own collection is to use the Repin button while browsing through other people's meetings. To get to the desired images, you need to go to the main page of the service by clicking on its logo. The window that opens will show the unsorted recent pictures added by Pinterest users. To see images grouped by topic, just hover your cursor over the Categories drop-down list and click on the desired topic.
When you hover the cursor, which will take the form of a magnifying glass, the Repin button will appear on the preview image, which will allow you to send the image to your own collection. Collections of custom images on Pinterest are called boards. To create such a board on which the copied image will be placed, after clicking on the Repin button, you will need to enter the name of the group of pictures in the text field and click on the Create button. To pin the image to the finished board, just click on the Pin it button located under the picture. If more than one thematic collection has already been created, when adding an image, you will need to select the board name from the drop-down list under the image.
Another way to add your favorite photos to one of your own Pinterest boards is to use a dedicated browser extension tool. This tool can be accessed by selecting Pin It Button from the About drop-down menu located at the top of the service page. The rectangle with the Pin It inscription located in the window that opens must be dragged with the mouse to the browser bookmarks panel.
To transfer an image found on the Internet to one of your own boards, you need to click on the Pin It icon located under the browser bookmarks bar. A preview of the selected picture will appear in the window that opens. When you hover over the thumbnail image of the cursor, the Pin It button will become visible, which you need to click. In the window that appears, you can enter a small description of the picture, select the name of the board on which the image will be pinned and click on the red Pin It button.
