When transferring a regular site to hosting, users usually do not have any questions, but when installing a Joomla site on a hosting site, there are a number of subtleties.
It is necessary
- 1) Site on joomla
- 2) Paid hosting
- 3) Filezilla Program
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to install Filezilla. It is with the help of it that we will upload the files of your site to the hosting. After installation, run the program. Click the "File" tab and select "Host Manager". Create a new host. Call it the name of your site. After that, in the "Host" menu, on the right side of the window, enter the IP address received from the hosting company. Also enter your username and password. Then click the "Connect" button.
Step 2
After connecting, a window will open, divided into two fields. The left box shows the resources of your computer, and the right box shows the resources of the remote host. Find the "Public_HTML" folder on the remote host. It has the same meaning as the "www" folder on the local computer. Open both of these folders on the remote host and on your computer, respectively. After that, select all files and folders that are in the "www" directory. Press the right mouse button and select the "Upload to server" item.
Step 3
After that, create a database and a user on the server. Add the created user to the created database. Check all privileges for him. Go to your local server. Go to "phpMyAdmin" and select your site's database. Select all tables in the database. After that press "Export" and zip archive. Go to the hosting site and click the Import button in the phpMyAdmin section. Import the database from your computer to the server.
Step 4
Let's move on to setting up the database. There is a "Configuration.php" file in your site directory. Open it up. Find the lines "user" and "db". Copy the full name of the database created on the hosting into the "db" line. Insert the username in the same way. In the "password" line, write the password that was created on the server when the user was created. Save the file and upload it to the server. Reload the file to the server.
