Step 1
To create your own wireless network with an internet connection, you need a Wi-Fi router. This device combines the functions of a network hub and a Wi-Fi transmitter.

When choosing a Wi-Fi router, you should consider the following parameters: signal propagation range and the maximum number of connected devices. Get a router that's right for you.
Step 3
Choose a place to install the device. Never hide it in a closet or other hard-to-reach place. This will make it difficult to connect the router's Wi-Fi to AC power and reduce signal strength.
Step 4
Connect the ISP cable to the router's Internet port. Connect this unit to a laptop via the LAN port. This is required to configure the router.
Step 5
Read the instructions for the device. Find its IP address. Enter it into the address bar of your browser to open the settings menu.
Step 6
Go to Network Setup or Internet Setup Wizard. Specify the data transfer protocol, the provider's access point, your username and password for Internet access.
Step 7
Open Wi-Fi settings or Wireless Setup Wizard. Specify the name of the future wireless access point, the password for connecting to it, the type of radio signal and the type of data encryption. For example: HOME_Wi-Fi, 12345670, 802.11g, WPA2-PSK. The last two parameters should be matched to the characteristics of your laptops.
Step 8
Save the settings and reboot the Wi-Fi router. If the last operation cannot be performed using the software method, then disconnect the power from the device for half a minute.
Step 9
Turn on your laptop. Activate the search for wireless networks and connect to the access point you created. Check your internet connection.
