Instructions

Step 1

Open Start and go to Control Panel. In the window that opens, find the "Network and Internet Connections" section, go to the "Network Connections" tab. The connections that are currently available on your computer will be displayed - in particular, a working LAN connection, which should function without errors with a correctly configured network card.

Step 2

If your local area connection is disabled, right-click on it and click Enable.

Step 3

Right-click the connection again and click Properties, then select the Internet Protocols TCP / IP heading from the list and click Properties.

Step 4

Select the checkbox to manually enter the address settings. Enter the IP address, gateway, subnet mask and DNS server that you should have been given when connecting from your provider. Click OK. From now on, your local network is working properly.

Step 5

You can also set up a workgroup to use the internal resources of your network. Right-click the My Computer icon and click Properties.

Step 6

In the "Computer name" section, click "Change" and enter the name by which the computer will be recognized in the network environment, and below enter the name of the workgroup. It can be anything as long as the working group is your own, or it can correspond to any other working group that you want to join in order to use its internal resources.

Step 7

Restart your computer and use the created network connection.
