Instructions

Step 1

Turn on the computer that you want to access via remote access in the future. Select "Control Panel" from the main "Start" menu and launch the "System" snap-in. In the window that appears on the left, find the "Advanced options" section. In the window that opens, go to the "Remote access" tab, where it will be configured.

Step 2

Activate the item "Allow remote assistance to connect to this computer." This will automatically generate an exception for Windows Firewall. Then click on the "Advanced" button. Here, set the remote control permission and connection session time. Return to the Remote Access tab and select the Remote Desktop Connection option.

Step 3

Set the username and password on the computer to enter the system. Otherwise, the remote user will not be able to connect to it. To do this, go to Control Panel and select the User Accounts snap-in. Click on the "Create password" link and enter the required parameters. If you want to change your username, then click on the "Change account name" link.

Step 4

Transfer to the computer from which you will log in via remote access. If you do not know the name of the remote computer or its IP address in the local network, then enter the ipconfig command at the command line. After that, open the "Start" menu and select "Remote Desktop Connection" in the "Accessories" section.

Step 5

Enter the address of the computer to which you want to connect in the window that appears. Click the "Connect" button. If the connection is established, a window will appear in which you will need to enter the username and password installed on the computer you are logging on to. If necessary, you can set additional connection parameters by clicking on the corresponding button.
