You can use special software to record streaming video from the Internet. For example, if you want to record YouTube videos, use free tools like Freerecorder 5, Debut Video, and CamStudio. You will be able to save recorded videos in various formats and play them on your smartphone, MP3 player or tablet PC.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install streaming video capture tools online. Free software is available at Applian.com, Nchsoftware.com, and Camstudio.org. Double click on the icon to run the installation file and follow the instructions of the installation wizard. Double click on the launcher of the software tool to start it.
Step 2
Go to the site you want to use to record streaming video. For example, if you want to record a video from YouTube or a similar site, use the search box on the web page to find the video you want to record. Enter the keyword or name of the video you want and click the Search button. When the web page loads, press the Pause key if the video starts to play automatically.
Step 3
Return to your video capture software and launch the Open Recording Wizard tab. Select the "Start Recording" option from the menu that appears. Start the function "Capture video or audio from the Internet". Keep in mind to get started with the instructions for capturing and recording different types of video.
Step 4
Reopen the streaming website and click the Play button to play it. Moments later, the URL of the streaming video will appear in the capture software window. Hover over the URL and left click on it to highlight. Click the Create New Entry button. Then click on the "Finish" button.
Step 5
Select the tab in the application menu "After recording, convert to …". For example, if you want to convert a video to the format you need to view it on an iPod, select “iPod Video”. Click on "Exit". Check the box next to Add to iTunes Library and click OK. Wait for the software to finish converting the streaming video to the desired format and save the resulting file on your computer.
