When you enter the name of a site in the address bar, most browsers helpfully offer hints in the form of a drop-down list or in some other way. It makes surfing the internet faster and easier, but also flaunts its history. Fortunately, all popular browsers have functionality for removing such hints.
Instructions
Step 1
In Mozilla Firefox, click the "Log" menu item and in the menu that appears "Show entire log" (or use the shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + H). Select the period during which you followed the link and double-click on it with the left mouse button. A list of links will open. Select the required one and press Delete on the keyboard. If you do not remember the period in which you visited this link, use the search, which is located in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 2
In Opera, click the menu item "Tools"> "General settings" (or press the hot keys Ctrl + F12), in the window that appears, select the "Advanced" tab and click on the "History" menu. Press the top "Clear" button - this will delete the entire history of Internet surfing on this browser, as well as the hints that appear in the address bar when you enter the domain name. To delete not all, but some links, press the hotkeys Ctrl + Shift + H, in the window that appears, select the necessary links and press Delete on the keyboard. Keep in mind that this way you can remove only those links that appear in the drop-down menu when typing the name of the site in the address bar, but not the hints.
Step 3
In Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon, and then on the "options" item. In the window that appears, select the "Advanced" tab, find the "Personal data" section and click on "Delete browsing data". Check the box next to "Clear browsing history" (remove the rest) and click on the "Delete browsing data" button.
Step 4
In Internet Explorer, click on the "Tools"> "Internet Options" menu item, find the "Browsing History" section and click on the "Delete" button inside it. In the new window, check the boxes next to the items "Save data of selected websites" and "History" and click on "Delete". Click OK to close the browser window.
