Often, even a very good and interesting site is impossible to read due to intrusive ads. It interferes with the normal study of the site's content every now and then. There is a way to disable any pop-ups and protect yourself from annoying ads on the web.
It is necessary
- - Browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox);
- - Adblock extension.
Instructions
Step 1
Open your browser. Please note that you can remove ads using the described method only in popular browsers - Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Therefore, if you are using another program to access the Internet, first install one of the specified browsers. Remember that it is better to download the installation files from the official websites of the programs in order to avoid installing malicious software on your computer.
Step 2
Install the AdBlock plugin. To do this, go to the official site of the plugin adblockplus.org and click on the "Install Adblock Plus" button. You will find it in the green rectangle in the upper right corner.
Step 3
Click the "Add" button in the pop-up window. The plugin will install automatically as soon as you allow the browser to do so. If you did everything correctly, a new tab will open with the inscription that Adblock Plus is installed, and some recommendations for using the extension.
Step 4
Allow unobtrusive ads so that the program does not accidentally "grab" really useful information. To do this, go to the "Add-ons" section in the FireFox browser or go to chrome: // extensions if you are using Google Chrome. Find AdBlock in the list of extensions and open the plugin settings. In the "Filter List" tab, check the "Allow some unobtrusive advertising" box. Thus, you will be able to use convenient services that the plugin perceives as advertising.
Step 5
Use filters. To manage filters, select the "Settings" tab in the plugin settings and, if necessary, click on the "Edit filters manually" button. This way you will be able to add exceptions and edit the work of the plugin yourself.
Step 6
Operate the plugin through the icon in the search bar. This icon will appear there immediately after installation. It will also help you quickly add sites to exclusions and create new filters, as well as disable ads on sites where, for some reason, it has passed.
Step 7
To create a filter through the extension icon, click on it, then on the "Create filter" button. After that, you need to click on the place where the advertisement that you want to remove has appeared. Make sure that the indicated location is highlighted in color after clicking on it. Once you confirm the filter settings, this ad will disappear from your computer forever.
