Step 2
Go to the "Security Settings" section, and make sure that the latest encryption version is installed. If the settings show WEP, then you need to change it to WPA2. This is the latest version of encryption at the time of this writing. You can also change the name of the wireless network. It is best to change the default network name. Otherwise, the network will be much easier to hack. This will require you to be creative. Come up with something original.
Step 3
Create a strong password for your wireless network. Now you need to enter the password for the wireless network. Make it as complex as possible by using random symbols. The more complex the password, the more difficult it is to crack.
Step 4
It is also recommended to disable the ability to connect to the router wirelessly. In this case, the router can only be controlled by the one who is connected to it using an Ethernet cable. In this case, no one will be able to access the settings of the router without having a direct connection to it.
