Instructions

Step 1

First of all, check if the required drivers are installed on your webcam. To do this, click on the main menu "Start" and find "Control Panel", where in the list of subsections that opens, go to "Printers and Other Hardware". When a new window opens on the screen, click on the Scanners and Cameras tab and see if your webcam is among the active devices. If you see it, then the drivers are working and you can start configuring the device.

Step 2

The operation of any webcam is provided not only by the appropriate activation programs. You can also set up a video communication device using online programs - programs designed for communication on the Internet (for example, in Skype).

Step 3

First, check if Skype considers your webcam to be active. Open the main page of the program and in the "Tools" menu, click the "Settings" link. In the list of subsections that opens, select "Video settings" and check if the box is checked in front of the function "Enable skype video" - the mark must be present. You can also check its activity if you select a subscriber and click on the line "Video communication". In the lower right corner of the window that opens, you will see your video image. If the video does not appear, reinstall the drivers - either those that came with the webcam, or download new ones - and check the image again.

Step 4

Change the video settings if you are not satisfied with the video quality. In the same subsection "Settings" find the "Webcam Settings" tab and click on it. Set the slider to a different brightness, color gamut or contrast, whatever you do, you will see all the changes right there on your computer monitor. Once you are satisfied with the version of the image, click on the "Save" button and check the video again.
