Step 1
In order to block a Visa card, you need to call the bank that issued the card, explain the problem and find out the help desk number. You should call the operator using it and ask to block the card. In this case, the operator, in order to surely identify the owner, may ask for the name, surname, patronymic, passport data and the password word that the owner specified when receiving the card.
Step 2
If the Visa card is connected to the Mobile Banking service, you should send a message from the phone number associated with this service to 900. In it you must write: BLOKIROVKA ***** 0. Where ***** are the last five digits of the card number and 0 is a blocking code indicating that the card has been lost. You can choose another reason for blocking: 0 - the card is lost, 1 - the card is stolen, 2 - the card is left at the ATM, 3 - another. After that, a response message with a code will be sent, which must also be sent to number 900 within 5 minutes. The word "BLOKIROVKA" can also be written in Russian letters, there will be no mistake.
Step 3
A Visa card issued by Sberbank will be blocked for a day if the wrong password is entered at the ATM three times in a row. After 24 hours, it will be unlocked automatically.
Step 4
You can also block the card via the Internet at Sberbank-Online on the Sberbank website. But to do this, you first need to get a user ID and a temporary password through the ATM. Naturally, this can be done only if you have a card. Then you need to go to the site, enter your password and use the "Card blocking" service.
Step 5
If you do not have a card, you can also get a password for Sberbank-Online if you have the Mobile Bank service. To do this, you need to send an SMS to number 900 with the word "PAROL" or "PASSWORD". If several cards are linked to the number, add the last 5 digits of the card you want to block to this word separated by a space. In this case, the user ID can be found by calling the contact center.
