Step 1

Take into account the fact that the authorization procedure depends on the ICQ client used. If you use the QIP application in ICQ, in the main window of the program (with a list of contacts), click the "Settings" button. Open the "Anti-spam" section in a new dialog box (in any version of the program, it is in the menu on the left).

Step 2

In the "For those who are not on my contact list" section, uncheck the box next to "Do not accept authorization messages." In the "Options" item, set the permission to receive messages from those users who are not in the contact list. Then close the window and save your changes.

Step 3

Contact the user you want to add to your contact list with a request to send you a corresponding request for authorization. To carry out this action, he needs to click on your account in his list, and then select "Authorization request" in the context menu. After these actions, you will receive an ICQ message with a request to confirm your intention to authorize the contact.

Step 4

In order to perform a similar procedure in the Mail.ru Agent and ICQ applications, you do not need to configure the client, just ask a user who is not in your contact list to send you an authorization request. This action is carried out in the same way as in the QIP program.

Step 5

Sometimes, after the authorization confirmation procedure, a new contact appears in the list, but its status is displayed incorrectly, which complicates communication. In such cases, you, for your part, can send a request for authorization or ask the user to send you a reapplication, this usually helps to solve the problem. Also, you can try to reload the application, i.e. apply another way to correctly complete the authorization process.
