Activation of the license server is required in order to obtain a digital certificate from Microsoft, which confirms the identity of the owner and extends the operation of terminal connections after the trial of 120 days. This procedure does not require any special technical skills and only requires attention.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the "Start" menu and select the "Control Panel" section. Go to the "Administration" item, in which the license server will be activated. Click on Terminal Server Licensing and open the All Servers link located in the console directory.
Step 2
Open the context menu of the server for which you want to activate the license. Click on it with the right mouse button and select the "Activate Server" function. This should launch the Terminal Server License Server Activation Wizard. Click the "Next" button to confirm your choice, then go to the "Activation method" section, select the "Connection method" tab and check the "Automatic connection" box.
Step 3
Click "Next". A window will appear in which you need to enter the administrator's personal data, then open the "Company Information" tab and specify information about the company. After filling in the weight, click the "Next" button. Follow the instructions in the Activation Wizard to install the key CAL packs. Click the Finish button and close all open windows.
Step 4
Activate the license server using Internet Explorer. To do this, complete all of the above steps up to and including the launch of the Terminal Server License Server Activation Wizard. Click the Next button, open the Activation Method tab and select Web Browser.
Step 5
The "License Server Activation" dialog box will open, in which you must specify a hyperlink to the activation Internet site for connection and licensing. After that click "Next" and mark the received product code. Further steps are the same as described above for activating the license server.
