Windows activation helps reduce the incidence of computer piracy, better known as “illegal copying”. Activation is performed using the Windows Activation Wizard, which provides Microsoft with a unique installation code. There are two ways of activation: by phone and via the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
Let's consider the method of activation via the Internet, for this do the following:
Click the "Start" button and select "Programs" → "Accessories" → "System Tools" → "Windows Activation" or you can use another method - in the notification area, click on the "Windows Activation" sign.
Step 2
In the window that appears, click "Activate Windows over the Internet" and "Activation Privacy Statement", then click "Back → Next".
Step 3
Next, you need to perform one of the following suggested actions:
- for the simultaneous activation and registration of Windows, you need to click on the register and activate Windows tab, then click "Back", then the "Next" button. After that, a window will appear in which you need to enter your unique contact information in the appropriate fields of the registration model, and then click the "Next" button. Only fields marked with a special symbol in the form of an asterisk (*) are required for filling.
- if you only want to activate the program without registering Windows, select the no, do not register tab in the window, then click the "Next" button.
Step 4
After you have completed all the steps listed above, the Windows Setup Wizard will be able to process the application activation request and establish a connection to the remote activation server. Upon completion of the activation and after receiving the message: "This version of Windows has been successfully activated" click the "OK" button.
Sometimes, when activating the software, an error may appear, in this case you need to go to the section "Start → Control Panel → System and Security → System", select "Change product key", although the activation key was initially entered correctly. Re-enter your product key and follow these instructions to reactivate your copy of Windows.
