An RSS feed configured on your site will allow all users interested in the information you provide to receive the latest news. Modern content management systems already have special RSS integration elements, but if they are not available, manual installation is possible.
Instructions
Step 1
To install an rss feed on your own web resource, do the following. Upload a plugin called RssFeed to your hosting site. Then create a document rss.php, where put the lines given in the text file at this link https://narod.ru/disk/44880181001/rssfeed.txt.html. In the presented PHP code, be sure to set up constant functions - constants. Be careful with the NEWSTABLE and DATECOLUMN parameters - this is the name of the update table and the name of the option displaying the date, respectively. If the last point is missing, then it must be corrected (the text of the RSS feed must include the date).
Step 2
After defining the constants and connecting to the database, output all text in.xml format. To do this, use a text file containing lines of PHP code by downloading it from the link https://narod.ru/disk/44880199001/rssfeed1.txt.html. It is worth noting that in this code you can edit only the names of fields in the database for the page, title and description. In the event that these parameters are created according to a different principle, make the necessary corrections.
Step 3
Now you need to check if the specified settings work. The RSS feed is located at site.ru/rss.php. If the newsletter from your site does not come from the specified link, then there are problems in the settings. Use FeedValidator or other dedicated validator to test your XML feeds. To make the feed address convenient and understandable for subscribers, it is best to use an entry in the form /latest-news.xml rather than /rss.php. To do this, edit the.htaccess file (if your hosting uses apache). At this point, the installation process for the RSS feed is complete. Set a shortcut to subscribe users to the site and wait for the first customers.
