Sometimes Internet users may experience inconvenience when some family members use it for entertainment and others for work. However, you can use the bandwidth limiting of your connection to make sure you can go about your business without worrying about insufficient traffic.
Necessary
- - Computer with Internet access;
- - Traffic Shaper XP application;
- - NetLimiter application.
Instructions
Step 1
Download on the website https://www.bandwidthcontroller.com/ Traffic Shaper XP app. Double click on the TrafficShaperXpSetup.exe installation file when the download is complete. Click Next and follow the instructions to install the software
Step 2
Click "Finish" when the installation process is complete. Open Traffic Shaper XP, a window titled "Welcome to Network Setup Wizard" appears. Click Next.
Step 3
Use the Download Speed and Upload Speed menus to determine the speed of your Internet connection (in kilobits per second). Here you can also select predefined values and enter your speed manually. Click Next.
Step 4
Select the network connection for which you want to limit the speed. In most cases, you should select "Local Area Connection". Click Next and Finish to save your settings.
Step 5
Download the NetLimiter app from the website https://www.netlimiter.com/. Unlike other similar utilities that are free, NetLimiter 2 Lite is a free trial. After a 28-day trial period, you will need to purchase this software for further use
Step 6
Double click on the nl_2011_lite.exe installation file. Click Next, follow the instructions to install the software, and then restart your computer when prompted. After restarting your computer, the NetLimiter icon will appear in the system tray.
Step 7
Click the NetLimiter icon and then click Open. Go to the drop-down menu and enter the type of connection speed determination. For example, if you want to limit your connection to 1 megabits per second, select "Mbps".
Step 8
Place your cursor in the Download Speed box. Erase the displayed number and enter the desired internet speed.
