In some cases, to create a connection to the Internet, you need to enable and configure the proxy server mode. Most programs that are designed to work on the Internet are equipped with this mode, Internet browsers are no exception.
Instructions
Step 1
Using the Opera browser as an example, you can show how to connect the "Proxy-server" option, in other browsers the setting is done in the same way, taking into account only the different names of the menu items. First of all, you need to install this program. Because Opera is free software, download it from the official site. Installation of this utility does not require any deep knowledge, besides how to click on the "Next", "Install" and "Finish" buttons.
Step 2
The program is launched by double-clicking the left mouse button on the icon on the desktop. Also, the program opens through the "Start" menu: in the list that opens, click "Programs", then click on the Opera shortcut. When you start it for the first time, the default browser check window will appear. Because you just installed this browser, it cannot be the default program for web pages, so click the "Yes" button if you want to make Opera the default browser or the "No" button otherwise.
Step 3
Next, you will see a window in which it is desirable to mark the top item "Continue from the place of disconnection" and constantly select it - this setting will allow you to restore the tabs that were open before exiting the program.
Step 4
Click the top menu "Tools", in the list that opens, select "Options" or press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F12.
Step 5
In the window that opens, go to the "Additional" tab. On the left side of the window, click on the "Network" subsection, and on the right side, click on the "Proxies" button.
Step 6
In the "Proxy servers" window that opens, fill in the following fields: HTTP (HTTPS), FTP, Gopher and WAIS. Despite the fact that you may not know the names of some items, fill in all the fields, taking the data from the printout made by the provider's support (proxy server data). After entering the data, click the "OK" button. The proxy is configured but not yet enabled.
Step 7
To enable it, press the F12 key in the main program window, in the context menu that opens, check the box next to the "Enable proxy servers" item.
