Internet Explorer add-ons add a variety of features. These include additional toolbars, ad pop-up blockers, stock tickers, animated mouse pointers, and more.
Instructions
Step 1
To enable add-ons in Internet Explorer, start the browser.
Step 2
Click the "Service" button, in the tab that appears, select the "Manage add-ons" section and click "Enable or disable add-ons". You will be presented with a new "View and manage Internet Explorer add-ons" dialog box.
Step 3
In the Show list, click the Add-ons command used by Internet Explorer to show all the add-ons.
Step 4
Select the add-on you want to add and click "Enable". Repeat this step for each add-in to be included. Then click the "OK" button.
Step 5
If you want to temporarily disable Internet Explorer add-ons, click the Start button on your computer, select All Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, and Internet Explorer without add-ons.
Step 6
To revert back to the original state, follow the instructions above to enable add-ons.
Step 7
In order to view the add-ons sorted into various categories, start the browser and, as described above, open the "View and manage Internet Explorer add-ons" window.
Step 8
To display the add-ons required for the current or recently viewed page, click Add-ons Loaded in Internet Explorer.
Step 9
If you want to display add-ons that are pre-approved by Microsoft, your service provider, or your computer manufacturer, click Add-ons that don't require permission to run.
Step 10
To view only 32-bit ActiveX controls, click on "Loaded 32 ActiveX controls".
Step 11
If an add-on is causing problems with Internet Explorer, try updating it. Disable the add-on, then go to the website from which you downloaded it. Check if you need an add-on to visit the website. If you need to use the add-in on your website or if you can improve your online experience, enable the add-in.
