Cookies are pieces of data that are sent by a web server and stored on the user's computer for future use. With their help, some data is saved, which is then used to access Internet resources or save special settings. In Internet Explorer (IE), this setting can be enabled using the corresponding menu item.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using a newer version of IE (IE6 and above), cookies are enabled through Internet Options. In IE versions 5.x and below, the setting has different items.
Step 2
Go to the browser menu. To do this, click on the settings icon in the upper right corner of the application window and select "Internet Options". To access the settings menu, you can also use the alt="Image" key on your keyboard, then select "Tools" - "Internet Options".
Step 3
In the top bar of the window that opens, select the "Privacy" tab. To adjust the enabling or disabling of cookies, you must select the desired privacy level. To enable the desired setting, set the security level to the lowest level by moving the corresponding slider down. To save the changes made, press the "OK" button.
Step 4
For IE versions 5.x, the Cookies settings menu is located under Tools - Internet Options. Then you need to select the "Security" tab. In the "Security Level" field, click on the "Custom" button. In the window that appears, select the setting "Allow the use of cookies", then check the box next to the line "Offer" ("Allow").
Step 5
Cookies accumulate over time and can slow down the program's performance. To regain performance, you need to periodically clean them. To clean up, go to "Tools" - "Delete Browsing History". In the window that appears, check the box next to "Cookies" and click "Delete". After the uninstallation procedure, restart your browser.
