Sometimes IM users want to change their username. By means of the installed Skype messaging program, it is possible to change only the name that is displayed in your profile, but the Skype Name value cannot be edited.

Step 1
Any Internet messenger other than those that support the ICQ protocol does not have the function of changing the main name in its asset. the name, in essence, is a login. Login is indicated during registration, and registration data cannot be changed. In the case of programs that support the ICQ protocol, the situation changes dramatically, since numbers are used instead of login.
Step 2
To change the username in the profile, just go to the program settings menu: start Skype, enter your data (username and password) and press the Enter key. In the window that opens, click the Skype menu, select the "Personal data" section, then "Edit personal data". Click on the field with your name and replace it. Save changes by clicking the checkmark button, then close the settings window.

If you want to change the name of a user from the list of contacts, right-click on his icon and select "Rename". Replace the name and press Enter.

To create a new name in Skype, you need to register again, i.e. get a new account. To do this, go to the following link https://www.skype.com/intl/ru/home and click the "Register" button. On the new page, you must enter your first name, last name and email address. Do not forget to fill in the fields in the "Personal data" section. At the bottom of the page, enter a new username (desired name in Skype) and password with its confirmation. Select a notification method and click the "I agree" button.

Click the Skype menu and select Sign Out. In the authentication window, enter your new username and password, do not forget to check the box next to "Automatic authorization at startup", then press the Enter key. Now you can start chatting under the name that suits you.
