One of the main advantages of e-mail is the ability to send not only text, but also files of any format. However, postal services do not allow creating too large messages, and therefore users are often faced with the issue of letter compression.

Instructions
Step 1
Leave the text in the body of the email. Attached files are additional information that "makes the message heavier", so it is much more economical, in terms of volume, to insert the contents of all.txt documents into the text entry field. At the same time, be careful when copying text from.doc and.docx formats, because they also retain formatting (font color, spacing), which will be lost during transfer.
Step 2
Minimize your file size. If the data you are going to send is too large, you can always edit it. For example, a picture weighing 3-4 mb is subject to sending. Most likely, it is saved in a high quality format: open the file using the Paint image editor and select "Save As". Make sure that the "Name" field does not duplicate the name of any other file and set the save format to Jpeg. The resulting image will remain the same externally, but will weigh no more than a megabyte. Similar editing methods can be selected for almost any type of document - for example, the.docx format is much less voluminous than.doc, and.mp3 is several times smaller than.wav.
Step 3
Use archivers. This software is designed to reduce the volume of files and staple them into separate archives. The most popular program is WinRar, which, after installation, integrates into the system and binds to all compressed files. The user needs to select all the documents that are attached to the letter, select them in the "Explorer" with a common frame and, by right-clicking, select the item "Add to archive". The archive menu will open, where you should select the maximum compression ratio and click on the "Create archive" button. The resulting package will occupy an order of magnitude less volume than the files separately. Please note that if no archiver is installed on the receiving computer, then you should create a self-extracting archive by checking the corresponding box in the menu.
