The social network VKontakte is the most popular in Russia. It includes a microblogging called a "wall" on which not only text entries, but also attached documents, as well as videos, photos, audio and other materials can be posted.
Adding a new video
You cannot immediately upload a new video to the wall on VKontakte. If you need to post a new video on the wall, first upload it to your video archive. Select the item "My Videos" in the menu, then select the function "Add video". Now name your video. The description is optional.
If you want to immediately place the video both in the video archive and on the wall, check the box at the bottom of the window menu opposite the corresponding item. By default, the video will only be placed in the video archive. Next, click the Download Video icon. In the window that opens, you will see a list of requirements for the downloaded file and the download key. You can load a file from Windows Explorer by clicking on the "Select File" icon or by dragging the selected video file onto this icon. The download of the video file will start immediately. It will take some time to convert it, after which the video will appear in your video archive, and if you have activated the corresponding function, then on your wall.
Preparing a video file
You have already noticed that the size of the uploaded video file on the VKontakte network should not exceed 2 GB, and the formats accepted for placement should have the extensions AVI, MP4, 3GP, MPEG, MOV, MP3, FLV, WMV. This means that some videos, for example, those with MKV, RM, RMVB extensions, you will have to convert to a suitable format first. The same problem can occur with files with the AVI extension, if the sound in them is compressed with the Vorbis codec, and the AVI extension itself can be assigned to a file with any video codec. To download a problematic video, simply convert it to WMV or FLV format. You can also choose MP4 video codec and encode audio to MP3.
Using the Attach function
On the wall, in the line with the words "What's new" put the mouse cursor. When you click on the line below it, the "Attach" inscription will open. If you hover the mouse over this inscription, a menu will appear in which a list of possible attachments will be indicated, among which there is a video. By clicking on the inscription "Video recording", you will be taken to your video archive, where you can select a video to be posted on the wall, again with one click of the mouse. You can select several videos and place them on the wall by clicking the inscription "Poison". It is not necessary to fill in the text field.
Using automatic search
By default, the "Attach" function opens your video archive. But above the pictures with your videos there is a video search bar. By entering the exact name of the video in this line, you can select the video you need using the entire archive of the VKontakte social network. You can also use the "Add via link from another site" function from the video download menu. By choosing this function, you must insert the video link into the corresponding menu bar. If at the same time you check the box "Publish on my page", then the video will be uploaded immediately both to your video archive and to the wall.
