Most modern programs require updating their own databases. Antivirus software, in particular NOD32, is no exception.
NOD32 update
As you know, updating anti-virus databases is the key to the security of your personal computer. Updating such databases shall apply to any such software. The thing is that new types of malicious software appear quite often, and antivirus developers must, in turn, identify them and add them to the program databases so that they can timely detect and eliminate viruses, Trojans and other programs of this kind. As a result, it turns out that in order for an antivirus to be up-to-date and to work efficiently, it must always have a fresh base of signatures (special tools and methods for detecting vulnerabilities and malware).
The key feature of NOD32 antivirus is that it is paid, that is, to get a fresh database, a user of a personal computer must have a special username and password to authorize the antivirus. After the payment is made, the user will receive this data, which will need to be entered in the appropriate fields. Then, after a certain amount of time, the antivirus database will be automatically updated, which will allow the owner of the PC not to worry about the security of their information.
Configuring updates for NOD32
After entering the login and password to authorize the NOD32 antivirus, the user needs to configure the installation of updates. The update system is configured in a special antivirus window ("Settings"). First, in the "Update server" field, you need to specify the server from which the latest updates for the anti-virus database will be sent. The best option is to select the "Select Automatically" metric. In this case, updates will come from the official server of the NOD32 developers. The user can specify a specific directory on the computer, by selecting which, the anti-virus will update the databases in offline mode (that is, this does not require an access to the network). Of course, you first need to download such a database, and only after that indicate the path to it. In the "Additional settings" tab, the user can set certain parameters for updating some components directly from the program itself, set a confirmation request that will appear if a file is received that exceeds the specified values, etc. In addition, the user will be able to clear the antivirus cache using the "Clear" button, because sometimes this information becomes too much and it takes up quite a lot of space on the computer's hard drive. After setting all the necessary parameters, the updates will work exactly as you need.
