The concept of CMS (Content Management System - Content Management System) has become an integral part of the modern Internet environment. If earlier sites consisted of simple pages made using HTML, now the overwhelming majority of them are created on modern control systems, or, simply put, site engines. The engine is an admin panel where you can publish posts, change the structure of the site, etc.
Instructions
Step 1
Examine the code meta tags for the page in question. As a rule, the type of the site engine can be specified in the meta tags. It usually looks like this:
Step 2
Analyze the login page. Different site engines have different ways to enter the admin panel. For example, on WordPress - / wp-admin, on Joomla! - / administrator, on Drupal - / login.
Step 3
Review your robots.txt file carefully. For directories that are prohibited from indexing, you just need to find out the site's engine. These directories most often include the login address to the admin panel, as well as the addresses of other system files, indexing of which is impractical.
Step 4
Use an online service to determine the site engine, of which there are a lot of them on the web now. For example, go to the site https://2ip.ru/cms/ and enter the address of the site you are interested in in the "IP address or domain" line. The system will check the site for signs of all the most famous cms and will highlight in red the inscription "signs of use" opposite the engine on which the site you are checking is made
Step 5
Install the special Wappalyzer extension if you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser. Now in the address bar, in addition to the "Add this page to bookmarks" icon, the engine of the site you are on will also be displayed.
