- file server;
- access server
for the possibility of an informed choice of the necessary components - the operating system, components, client programs and settings.
Step 2
Take the opportunity to install the software you want to create a game server. After setting up and creating an Internet connection, other users who have installed the client applications will be able to create connections to the server and participate in a multiplayer game. Such a server can be controlled remotely using the Internet or local networks. User access can be restricted by the server administrator.
Step 3
Provide hosting services on your web server to host custom sites for both PHP and SQL databases. It is possible to bind a server IP address to a custom domain name and organize a mailbox for a hosted site. Using the hosting control panel ISPconfig will allow you to remotely manage one or more servers with complete separation of user sites and databases, providing the ability to separately account for each client.
Step 4
Use your server as a file storage for FTP communication. In this case, the file server becomes a hard drive with Internet access. It is through the FTP protocol that the overwhelming number of music, video and program files are transferred between users. The main condition in such an option is a large amount of disk space required to store information.
Step 5
Provide routing services that are the primary purpose of the access server. In this case, the server must have several network cards, allowing traffic to be redirected to the required clients. It is possible to restrict access and speed of certain users.
