Among other security recommendations that apply when using the Webmoney electronic payment system, periodic password changes stand apart. A few simple steps allow you to significantly increase the level of reliability of the Webmoney service and protect your own funds from encroachments on the part of intruders.

Step 1
Access to account management and authorization in the Webmoney system is carried out through the so-called keepers - software applications running on the user's side. There are three versions of the Webmoney Keeper program, each of which has its own functionality, and therefore - its own password change system.
Step 2
In the Webmoney Keeper Mini application, which allows you to manage your profile in browser mode, to change your password, you need to go to the settings page by clicking on one of the two blue buttons located in the upper left part of the keeper's main page. In the window that opens, you need to find a group of settings called "Security" and click on the "Change" link located to the right of the "Password" item. In the window that appears, enter the old password, the new password and duplicate it in the "Confirmation" field, and then click on the "OK" button.

Webmoney Keeper Classic is a separate program that runs in the Windows operating system family. To enter the program, you must have a key file, an access code to it and an entry password. The latter can be easily changed in the settings menu of the program itself. You can enter this menu by clicking on the "Tools" item in the main menu and selecting "Program parameters" from the drop-down list. In the window that opens, go to the "Security" tab, and then click on the "Change password …" button. In the new window, you need to enter the old password, the new desired password, which should also be duplicated in the "Confirmation" field, then click the "Yes" button. If the operation is successful, a notification dialog will be displayed. It is important to know that if authorization in Webmoney Keeper Classic is carried out through the E-NUM service, the downloaded key file will no longer be up-to-date, and therefore it should be downloaded again, specifying a new password to enter.
Step 4
When working with Webmoney Keeper Light, the password change procedure is also quite simple. To access changing the password, you need to enter the program using the E-NUM service, X.509 digital certificate, or authorization with confirmation via SMS. After entering the program, select the "Settings" item from the main menu and click on "Program settings" in the drop-down menu, then go to the "Security" tab. In the window that opens, you need to click on the "Change password" button in blue. In the pop-up window that appears, you need to enter a new password and its confirmation, and if authorization was carried out without confirmation by SMS, specify the current password in the corresponding field. If the procedure for changing the password has been carried out correctly, the notification "Operation completed successfully" should appear in the lower right part of the program window.
