Check with your ISP for your connection speed. This speed is indicated in the contract for the provision of Internet access services. In the name of tariffs, a number is sometimes indicated that coincides with the speed of incoming traffic, which is guaranteed by the provider. If not, then find out the speed by contacting technical support by phone, Skype or ICQ, or go to the "Personal Account" on the provider's website. But, as a rule, the speed declared by the provider is somewhat different from the real speed. And you can check it using special services.

Go to speedtest.net - one of the most popular services for testing various parameters of the Internet connection. The speed test tool is located on the home page of the site. It represents the map, in the middle of which you are located (the location is determined by the ip-address). Select any server on the map, except for your own, and click the "Start check" button (choose a server located in a neighboring region). The speed test results will be displayed after a few seconds. They will contain the number of the speed of incoming traffic, outgoing traffic, as well as the ping value (response time to a specific server). In this case, the Internet speed is measured in megabits, and the ping in milliseconds.
Step 3
Calculate the real connection speed using the programs that download files. To do this, close all applications using traffic, leaving only the download manager, then find out if the download limit is set in the settings. Then look at the download speed, and multiply this number by 8.
