Instructions
Step 1
If you purchased a new computer or laptop and decided to transfer all your data to a new device, then you probably faced the fact that browser bookmarks cannot be simply copied. To do this, you will need to import bookmarks using the Internet settings menu. Before copying bookmarks in Chrome from computer to computer, prepare any removable media such as a USB flash drive. Insert it into your old PC and then launch it on your Google Chrome device.
Step 2
Click on the key icon located in the upper right corner of the Google Chrome window, then go to the "Bookmarks" -> "Bookmarks Manager" menu. A new browser tab will open displaying all your saved bookmarks.
Step 3
Click on the "Organize" button located at the top of the browser tab, then on "Export Bookmarks". A new window will appear titled "Save As".
Step 4
Use the search box to select your removable device and then click the "Save" button. Google Chrome automatically names the file, for example, "bookmarks_8_29_11.html".
Step 5
Disconnect the removable media and connect it to the new computer where you should run Google Chrome. Press the wrench button and then go to "Bookmarks" -> "Bookmark manager".
Step 6
Click on the "Organize" button, then go to the "Import Bookmarks" tab. A new window will appear titled "Open".
Step 7
Select your removable media in the window that opens and double-click on the Google Chrome bookmarks file. A new folder named "Imported" appears on the left side of the bookmark manager tab. This is where your bookmarks will be saved.
