Visual Bookmarks - A list of the most frequently visited pages that are displayed in the main Chrome window when you launch the browser and open each new tab. The list consists of several miniature page icons, after clicking on which the transition to the corresponding site begins.
How visual bookmarks work
Functionality of visual bookmarks is similar in principle to the operation of express panel in Opera, Internet Explorer or Firefox. The main difference between this Chrome feature is that these bookmarks are a list of the most visited sites by the user, regardless of the presence of their address in the Favorites (Bookmarks) panel of the program. This solution is not convenient for all users, and therefore the principle of the function can be changed by installing a special plug-in.
A third-party extension installed from the app store allows you to post your own links to the resources you need most and add more elements to the screen.
Initially, the number of visual tabs is limited to 8 items.
Installing an extension
Go to the extension store by opening a browser window and clicking on the icon of the main menu of the program “Configure and manage google chrome”. In the list that appears, select "Tools" - "Extensions" - "More extensions". Wait for the page with available plugins for the program to load. On the left side of the page, click on the "Store search" line and enter "Visual bookmarks".

"Visual bookmarks" from the site yandex.ru allow you to get a fully functional panel that expands the number of elements used to 25. You can also customize the display parameters of the link bar, select a theme and manually add the necessary items from regular bookmarks or by entering the address of the desired site in the appropriate line item creation menu.
A similar functionality is provided by "Visual Bookmarks" from the Mail.ru service, which also have a plug-in for displaying the weather on the main page of the resource and saving the number of unread mail messages. Having chosen the most suitable option, click "Free" to install the plug-in in Chrome, after which you will need to restart the utility to save the entered data.
As soon as the program is restarted, the visual bookmarks will be activated. You can add a new bookmark by clicking on the corresponding icon on this panel and entering the address of the required resource.
To configure the parameters of the panel display, click on the "Settings" button in the lower right part of the program window. This item will help you adjust the available number of elements, the color scheme used, and, if necessary, reset the applied settings.
