Visual bookmarks are one of the services provided by the Mail.ru mail resource. Integration of virtual bookmarks into the browser is performed during the installation of one of the applications of the partner companies of the site. You can get rid of an annoying service in one of several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Del and wait for the system task manager to start. Go to the Processes tab and see if there are any Guards Mail.ru among the active processes. This is a hidden service of visual bookmarks, the active session of which can be terminated by pressing the corresponding key in the task manager window. Restart your browser and see if the virtual bookmarks are gone. The disadvantage of this method is that the above steps will have to be repeated every time the system is started.
Step 2
Check the Program Files folder on your hard drive for a subfolder with the word Mail.ru in its name, or use the system search for this keyword and its derivatives to find out the exact location of the virtual bookmarking service executable file. Delete the folder from your hard drive by right-clicking on its icon and pressing the Del key, or open the folder and run the uninstaller. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.
Step 3
Open your browser and go to its options tab. Select the plugins or add-on settings item and find the Mail.ru item in it. Disable or remove the plugin to remove visual bookmarks.
