Slang of social networks is updated daily with new names. And if many of them, such as "group", "page", can be understood without even using VKontakte every day, then some names make you think for a long time. One of these is the buzzword "public".
Public is an abbreviation for the term "public page". Social network users who subscribe to such a page are called public subscribers. Initially, there were only groups on the VKontakte social network - communities that gathered people of the same interests. In such groups, you can create topics for discussion, upload photos, videos, music and documents. In them you can write some news or short messages on the wall, attach pictures. Public is, in fact, a derivative of the group, but of a lightweight nature, a kind of mini-blog format for everyone.
What is the public for?
The public stands at the intersection of a full-fledged group with several open topics in which users express their opinion about something, discuss, share their impressions, and twitter, in which only short messages and pictures are available. The main goal of the public is informational: as soon as possible to tell your visitors about an interesting event, to share news.
