Often there are situations in which it is necessary to connect to the Internet of several computers located in the same local network. Connecting each computer separately is not at all profitable. Not only will you have to buy additional network cards, but also there will be a need to pay for each new connection to the provider. And the presence of a huge number of network cables is very annoying.
Instructions
Step 1
For correct LAN configuration, set the host IP address 192.168.0.1. This is a very important parameter, because many gateways work with this IP by default.
Step 2
For all other computers on the local network, assign addresses of the same format with the last digit changed. Those. The IP addresses will look like this: 192.168.0. Q, where Q is the local machine number. The subnet mask should remain standard.
Step 3
All computers must have direct access to the host. To do this, turn off Windows Firewall and all firewalls on the host machine. Please note that in addition to separate firewalls, antivirus "firewalls" can run on your computer.
Step 4
In the local computers IPv4 settings, fill in the fields as follows:
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
Preferred DNS Server 192.168.0.1
Step 5
If the IP address 192.168.0.1 is busy for some reason, then in step 4, write
The main gateway is the IP of the host computer in this local zone.
Find your preferred DNS server here:
Start - Run - cmd - ipconfig / all. In the information that appears, select the DNS servers that use the host computer's internet connection.
Step 6
In the Internet Connection Sharing settings on the host computer, enable Internet access in the local zone where the rest of the machines are located.
