In order to use the Internet, you need to connect your computer to it. Currently, there are several ways to connect: via a regular modem, ADSL modem, leased line, USB modem, etc. Regardless of what kind of connection your Internet provider offers, you can set up Internet access yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Make inquiries in the market of services, which of the providers can actually connect and configure Internet access on your computer. Contact the selected providers, choose a tariff and connection option. Sign a contract and put it in a safe place for storage, you will still need it. Pay for connection services. Be at home (where your computer is) at the appointed time. Let the technicians into the apartment. Get access to the world wide web. Check the quality of your work by downloading your favorite browser from the Internet and installing it.
Step 2
Get the contract if the settings are lost or you bought a new system unit. Connect the cable to the network card of your computer. Click the Start button. Select the section "All programs", subsections: "Standard", "Communication". Click on the "New Connection Wizard".
Step 3
Read the information and open the next window using the "Next" button. Check the offer "Connect to the Internet", then again "Next". Click Set up my connection manually. Select the item that corresponds to your connection, i.e. what you were connected through. Proceed further.
Step 4
Type the name of the connection. Enter your phone number, if you are connected via a modem, if not, then try to enter everything correctly, and tick only the items you need. Login (contract number) and password are taken from the contract. Agree to install a shortcut on your desktop window. Click Finish.
Step 5
Check the box next to "Save password", "for any user" if you do not want to fill in the password every time. Please note that then everyone who will work or play on this computer will access the Internet without hindrance.
