Two personal computers can be connected to a local network and set up a general access to the Internet. To do this, it is not necessary to resort to the help of a programmer, but you can do everything yourself.
It is necessary
- - cable;
- - LAN card;
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to determine the distance the two computers are from each other. Purchase the required amount of dedicated computer cable. Crimp the ends at a specialty store. Purchase network cards (if there are no built-in ones).
Step 2
Connect the network cards to the dedicated output on the motherboard. Download the latest updated drivers from the manufacturer's website. Install them using the Hardware Installation Manager. Reboot your operating system for all changes and updates to take effect.
Step 3
Connect the ends of the cable to the network cards. The green light should come on. Lay the fiber optic cable in such a way as to avoid mechanical damage, as this will lead to a loss in the quality of the connection.
Step 4
Go to "Start" - "Control Panel". Left-click on the "Network Connections" shortcut. In the dialog box that appears, you will see a "Local Area Connection" shortcut. Right-click on this shortcut and go to properties. Select the TCP / IP section. Enter the IP address 192.168.0.1 from the first computer and 192.168.0.2 from the second.
Step 5
Select the "Internet" shortcut on your computer. Go to properties and check the box next to "Allow Internet Sharing".
Step 6
Go to the TCP / IP settings from the second computer. In the Default Gateway field, enter the IP address of the first computer.
Step 7
If the Internet is still not available, then turn off the firewall. Go to the browser on your personal computer and enter the following in the address bar: 192.168.0.1. Refresh the page. Internet is available.
