One of the useful features of social networks is to restrict access to materials posted on the user's page. Facebook allows you to regulate the availability of uploaded images, texts and videos both through your account settings and when posting a status, note, video or photo.

It is necessary

  • - an account on the social network Facebook;
  • - browser.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to restrict access to content posted on a Facebook page is to set the default privacy setting. To adjust its parameters, log into your account and click on the extreme right button of the main menu, which looks like a triangle. In the list that appears, select "Privacy".

Step 2

In the window that opens, check the "Friends" item if you want the content of your page to be seen only by users from the list of friends. If you prefer to narrow or, conversely, expand the circle of people who have access to your profile content, select the "User Settings" option.

Step 3

Select from the drop-down list a group of users who, by default, will see the content posted on your page. You can select Friends of Friends, Specific People or Lists, or Just Me. The "Friends of Friends" and "Just Me" options will not need to be specified. After you select Specific People or Lists, enter the usernames or names of user lists in the text box for which your page will remain open.

Step 4

If you want to hide the content of your page from a small number of people listed in your friends list, enter their names in the "Can't see" field. This option can be used even if you have made your page available to your friends' friends. To save the new settings, click on the "Save changes" button.

Step 5

To check the correctness of the selected settings, return to your profile page and click on the "View as" button. It can be seen in the upper right part of the window. By typing your Facebook username into the text box, you can see how your page looks from that person's perspective.

Step 6

If you want to restrict access to only a few of your posts, you can do so using the audience switcher. The button for this toggle can be seen in the lower right side of the post. Move the cursor over the icon and use the arrow-shaped button that appears. Select from the drop-down list a group of social network users to whom the publication will be available.
