There are several ways to configure a local network so that all computers can access the Internet. Some of them are quite cheap, while others require some financial investment.
It is necessary
Wi-Fi router, network cables
Instructions
Step 1
Let's consider the option of creating a local network using a router. This method is quite convenient because several computers can access the Internet at the same time.
Step 2
Get a router. If you need to connect not only computers, but also laptops to the local network, then it is recommended to use equipment with the ability to create a wireless access point, i.e. - Wi-Fi router.
Step 3
Connect the Internet connection cable provided by your ISP to the WAN (Internet) port of the router. Connect the computers that will be part of the local network with access to the Internet to the router through the LAN ports. Naturally, you need network cables for this.
Step 4
Turn on one of the computers, open a browser and enter the device's IP address in the address bar. You can find it in the user manual.
Step 5
First, set up a connection with your provider. To do this, go to the Internet Setup Wizard or Internet Setup menu. Fill in the required fields as you would if you created a connection from a computer. Be sure to activate the DHCP function. Save the settings and reboot the router.
Step 6
Now all devices connected to the router using network cables will be able to access the Internet. Open the Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup menu. Enter the name of your wireless access point, the password for accessing it, the types of data encryption and radio signal transmission. Reboot the device after saving the changed settings.
Step 7
Turn on the laptop and activate the search for available networks. Select your network and click the "Connect" button, enter the password. Wait for the laptop to automatically obtain the IP address. As a result, you got a universal combined local area network with Internet access.
