You can connect your computer to the server via the Internet using VPN (Virtual Private Network). This will allow you to properly allocate resources on the remote network, as well as configure the server in the correct order.
Instructions
Step 1
Configure Windows to connect to the server properly. Typically, the software required to create a VPN is included with the Windows Server operating system. It is better to install it, so as not to purchase any additional network equipment.
Step 2
Boot Windows Server and click the Start button, select Programs, Administrative Tools, and Server Configuration Wizard. Open "Remote Access / VPN-Sever" in the list of services.
Step 3
Click the circle to the left of the VPN & NAT VPN option. Select the network adapter that connects your computer to the Internet, if available.
Step 4
Select the option to automatically assign an IP address. Select No, Use Routing and Remote Access to Authenticate Connection Requests to go to the Manage Multiple Remote Access Servers page.
Step 5
Click the Start button, select Programs, Administrative Tools, and open Active Users and Computers. Go to the "Remote Access" section and go to the "Properties" tab. Specify "Allow access" for each of the users to whom you want to open access to the server through the VPN.
Step 6
Navigate to the name of the computer that you want to connect to the server over the Internet. Press the "Start" button, open "Control Panel", then "Network and Internet", "Network and Sharing Center" and "Set up a new connection or network."
Step 7
Select "Connect to a workplace", "Use my internet connection" and enter the IP address of the router to connect the server to it. To find this address, open the router's configuration page.
Step 8
Enter the username and password for the account through which the VPN is accessed. Use a VPN connection to connect to the server.
