It is customary to use proxy servers to access certain resources. Sometimes setting up your own server allows you to access Internet resources using a local network for this.
Instructions
Step 1
If your computer is already connected to the Internet, but you need to configure your browser to use proxy servers, then follow this process yourself. When using the Opera internet browser, press the Ctrl and F12 keys after launching it. Select the "Advanced" tab from the menu that appears.
Step 2
Find the "Network" menu in the left column and open it. Click the "Proxy Servers" button located at the top of the window that appears. Activate the "Configure proxy servers manually" function by checking the box next to the corresponding text. Now select the protocols that you need to use to access the Internet through the proxy server. Enter the IP address of the server and specify the port to connect to it. Click the "Ok" button and restart the Opera program.
Step 3
If you prefer to use Mozilla FireFox to access the Internet, launch it and go to the settings menu. This usually requires opening the appropriate tab. In the menu that appears, select the "Advanced" tab. Now click the "Configure" button located in the "Connection" item.
Step 4
Check the box next to Manual proxy service configuration. Configure the required protocols as described in the second step. If you need to access certain resources without using a proxy server, then enter their addresses in the "Do not use proxy for" field. Save the settings by clicking the "OK" button.
Step 5
To customize the Internet Explorer browser, launch it and open the "Tools" tab. Select "Internet Options". Open the "Connections" tab and click the "Configure" button located in the "Remote Access Settings" item.
Step 6
Check the box next to Use a proxy server for this connection. Enter the desired address and save your browser settings.
