Cut (from the English "cut" - "cut") - shortening the text of the blog post before the announcement. Different platforms use different HTML tags for this operation. However, there is also a universal way to remove text under the cut using the form of the visual editor.
Instructions
Step 1
On the blogging platform, open the new post page. Set the mode "Visual editor". Type the text of the announcement and the full text of the article. Then select the text you want to hide.
Step 2
In the top bar, find the "Sidebar" button. The button may look different, usually showing a cut page. The illustration shows how she looks on the LJ platform. Click on it.
Step 3
In the dialog box that appears, enter the word that will be displayed after the announcement. Clicking on it opens the full text of the article, by default these can be phrases: "Next", "Read more" or similar. Note that when the full text is expanded, this word disappears. So, if you want to refer to the full article as the last word of the announcement, duplicate it after the kata.
Step 4
At the same time, most bloggers prefer to use HTML tags, although to some extent this is a little more complicated. Memorizing all the tags is optional, especially since the Internet is full of encyclopedic resources that store HTM tags for a number of blog decorations (inserting a picture, using tables, using colored frames and highlighting for text). One of these resources is listed in the appendix to the article, but it does not list the tags for kata on blogging platforms, with the exception of LiveJournal. Recognizing the tag for another platform is not difficult. Type the text in the visual editor, use the special "Insert" button. Then press the button "HTML-mode" or "Source" (the name changes depending on the resource, the essence remains). The typed message will open in the appropriate mode.
Step 5
Kata tags are displayed before the phrase "Read more" or similar and end after the snippet to be removed. Copy them if desired and save them in a separate file. Later you can use them when registering a new message.
