Web designers and site administrators use the acronym CTR to refer to the ratio of clicks to impressions. CTR is a "breakthrough" for advertising and shows how many site visitors are interested in a link or banner and clicked on it, and how many passed by.

Instructions

Step 1

Everyone who has ever posted an advertisement on their website knows how important a good CTR is. Advertising systems that pay publishers for clicks on affiliate advertisements are called Pay Per Click.

The optimal level of the CTR indicator depends on many factors - the focus of the site, the use of a narrow or wide topic, the number of visitors, marketing, banner design, and much more. For broad-topic sites with small ad units, the normal CTR can be 0.5% -1.5%. While specialized sites, the content of which is supplemented with logical ad units, can have a CTR of 20% -30%. No matter how high your site's breakdown rate, you can improve it.

Step 2

Select relevant keywords for the site pages. Contrary to the opinion “frequent request - large number of visitors”, use low-frequency requests (LF) and very low-frequency requests. If the article material on the page does not fully cover the topic of the headline, the ad unit placed directly below the text will receive a click.

Key phrases should be specific. The content of specific words in them is optimal. For example, “movie” is a high-frequency query, “Indian movie” already narrows the search space, and the construction “new Indian movie about love” makes the query low-frequency. Use 3-4 word key phrases. Special programs that work in automatic mode, as well as Yandex Wordstat, will help you choose them.

Do not neglect synonyms - people formulate the same query differently: "Indian movie about love" and "Indian movie about feelings."

Step 3

PPC blocks should be the same design with the rest of the page. Use basic fonts and their sizes, background colors and links. Place blocks with contextual advertising in the so-called "hot zones" - these are places on the page that usually have the highest CTR: site header, block next to the news and updates column, block in front of comments at the end of the article. Blocks with flash ads, on the contrary, should attract attention. Make them bright and big if such formats are available in the affiliate program.

If you create a banner yourself, include in its text words that induce action, so that the visitor will certainly want to click on the ad. The uniqueness of advertising and its exclusivity always arouses consumer interest.
