For an experienced Internet user, it is usually not a problem to add new pages to the site or remove those that have lost their relevance. But in the event that a person who is not experienced in this matter has to work with the site, changing the number of pages and their content can become a rather difficult task for him.
Instructions
Step 1
Most of the pages on sites have the extension *.html, * htm or *.php. See what extension the pages of your site have - a new page will need to be made with exactly the same one.
Step 2
To add a page to the site, you need to have administrator rights. The site management method depends on what resource it is located on. If this is an independent project on paid or free hosting, then all work with setting up the site is done from the control panel. Access to the panel - login and password - you get during the registration of the resource.
Step 3
You will need any html editor to add a page. For example, Cute Html is a simple and very user-friendly editor with syntax highlighting. Start the editor, a template for the future code will appear in the window that opens. Select all lines and delete, you don't need them.
Step 4
Open the page of your site through the control panel that is most similar to the one you want to add. Copy its html code. Then paste it into the editor window and save it with the name you want. For example, if the last page of your site had an address of the form: https://my_site.ru/12.html, then save the created page as 13.html.
Step 5
Now you need to change the code and content of the created page as needed. It is more convenient and much faster to edit a copied page with a ready-made template than to create a new one from scratch. You just have to change the menu, navigation and fill the page with the necessary content. Start by navigating: see where links lead to which buttons or menus you pressed, and tweak them as needed. Some lines will remain intact, some will need to change the name and insert the necessary jump addresses.
Step 6
After changing the navigation, save the page as a separate file - for example, as 13.1.html. Save the page with a new name whenever you make such a change. In the event of an error, this will allow you to return to the last saved page and continue working.
Step 7
With your navigation set up, navigate to the page content. Pay attention to the tags used to format the text. If you just need to change the text, carefully remove it from the code, leaving the tags. Then paste the new text in place of the deleted text. You can view the result of your actions at any time by clicking the view button in the editor. The created page will open in your default browser.
Step 8
If you plan to place a picture on the page, place it on the site in one of the folders, and write the path to this file in the link in the page code. Keep in mind that when viewing the created page in a browser, links to pictures will not work if you are not connected to the Internet.
Step 9
After the page is created, save it under the desired name and put it through the control panel on the site, in a folder to other pages. The work is not over yet - you need to correct those pages of the site from which the transition to the new page will be carried out. Namely, make the appropriate lines to go to the menu.
Step 10
If the site pages have the *.php extension, then proceed as follows: save the code as *.html in the editor. After the page is created, change its extension to *.php and put it on the site.
Step 11
In the event that your site was created using a free site builder - for example, such as Ucoz, adding new pages and editing them is carried out through the menu of this site. Open the control panel, carefully study its options, and you will find all the tools you need. If you have any questions, visit the support forum for the service you are using.
