When using a torrent client, you download and upload files at the same time. The distribution is active even if the file is completely downloaded, and with standard settings it can significantly reduce the download speed.

Instructions

Step 1

To limit the upload speed, run a torrent. Select all downloads that are in the working area of the program, then right-click on them. Limit the upload speed to one kilobit per second. Torrent clients were conceived in such a way that uploads cannot be stopped completely, however, it is possible to reduce upload speeds to an absolute minimum. This method is most preferred when you are downloading and uploading a file at the same time.

Step 2

In case you have already downloaded the file and are on the distribution, you can also minimize the download and upload priority for the selected files using the same method as in the previous step. Also, minimize the priority of the program using the network connection in principle. In this case, the recoil will not interfere with the use of the Internet. However, in this mode, you will not be able to download files at high speed either, so it makes sense to use this method only if there are no active downloads.

Step 3

You can also block the program you use to download torrent files from accessing the network. Open your firewall settings and then block the network access for your torrent client. Keep in mind that in this case you will not be able to download files using it until you disable this blocking.

Step 4

To completely stop the distribution, you need to either disable the application or disconnect from the network. Exit the application by clicking on the "Exit" button or on the program icon in the tray with the right mouse button and selecting the "Exit" menu. Control the shutdown of the application using the task manager in the process tab. To disconnect from the network, you must either break the current connection, or disconnect the device with which you access the Internet router or modem.
