Quite often, users use proxy servers to connect to various network resources. This helps to bypass the ban of some sites on specific IP addresses or to gain access to blocked resources.
Instructions
Step 1
Proxy servers are configured separately in each browser. If you need to fully connect your computer to the Internet through a proxy server, then configure the properties of the network adapter. Please note that this will lead to a significant drop in your Internet access speed, so start from the first point. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Step 2
Open the Settings tab and select the Advanced Settings menu. Go to the "Network" tab. Find the "Configure" button opposite the "Connection" item and click it. Check the box next to Manual proxy settings. Now fill in the next four items on this menu with the proxy server addresses and corresponding ports.
Step 3
You can also specify the addresses of sites that do not require connection through proxy servers to access them. To do this, enter their urls separated by commas in the "Do not use proxy for" field.
Step 4
If you are using the Opera browser, then launch it and in the "Settings" menu select "General settings". Now open the "Advanced" tab and select the "Network" item located in the left menu of the new window. Click on the "Proxy Servers" button. Check the box next to Configure proxy server manually. Enter the addresses and ports of the required proxy servers in the fields below.
Step 5
If you need to configure Internet access through a proxy server on a global scale, then open the list of active connections to the network. Select the network adapter through which the computer accesses the Internet. Open its properties. Highlight the "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" menu and click the "Properties" button.
Step 6
Now enter the IP address of the proxy server in the Preferred DSN Server field. If your computer is directly connected to the server, then write the same value in the "Default gateway" field.
