Changing the IP address allows you to bypass the protection of some programs and Internet resources. The easiest way to change the IP address to connect to a specific site is to use a proxy server. But there are methods to avoid using these resources.

Step 1
In the situation when you need to use a static IP address to establish a connection with the provider's server, change its value yourself. For Windows XP, open the Start menu and hover over Network Connections. Select the Show All Connections menu.

Right-click on the Internet connection icon and select "Properties". Select the TCP / IP Internet Protocol options. Find the "IP Address" field and change the value shown in it. Click the Ok button to save the parameters.

When configuring parameters in Windows Seven or Vista systems, click on the network icon located in the system tray. Open the Network and Sharing Center menu. Go to adapter options.

Open the properties of the required connection. Select "Internet Protocol TCP / IPv4". Change its parameters as described in the second step.

If your ISP uses dynamic IP-addresses, then simply disconnect the connection to the Internet and the local network, if present. After 2-3 minutes, reconnect to the network and check the value of the IP address.

If this method did not help, then open the device manager. Find the network card and go to its properties. Click the Advanced tab and find the Network Address field. Change the value of the MAC address. Save the settings and reconnect to the network. Most likely, you will be given a new IP address.
Step 7
When choosing a new MAC address, it is better to replace 1-2 digits in the standard parameter. Open a command console by typing cmd in the Run box and type ipconfig / all. Find out the MAC address of your network adapter before entering a new value.
