The famous role-playing game TES IV: Skyrim allows players to immerse themselves deeply in the world of a snow-covered fantasy world, reminiscent of the possession of the Vikings, and try themselves in different roles: lumberjack, cook, adventurer and even assistant to the jarl. Jarls are the rulers of the provinces of Skyrim, they are always looking for a useful person who will act as their substitutes. But, unfortunately, the game does not provide an opportunity to take their throne.
Jarls
Jarls are rich and powerful Nords (less often representatives of other races) who occupy thrones in large cities, capital cities of territories or regions of Skyrim. They share nine possessions among themselves, that is, there are a total of nine jarls in the game. But not a single quest in the official version of the game allows you to achieve this position: all the thrones of the Jarls are occupied, and it is impossible to overthrow or kill them.
But you can approach any of the rulers, having received the highest possible position - tana. To do this, you need to meet with the jarl in the throne room of the city, talk to him, after which the head of the city will either decide to award the player with this title right now on the basis of many useful and good deeds performed for the well-being of the city and its inhabitants, or ask first to help him - complete several quests.
Moreover, the jarl does not name exactly what tasks need to be done in order to attract attention. You will have to walk around the city, ask residents about their problems, and try to solve them.
For example, in Dawnstar, in order to obtain the title of thane, you must bring the salts of the void to the local Captain Black Storm, find a ring of the "purest mixture" for Frida, and search for the book "Night Comes to Sentinel" for Rustleif. The jarl will find out about your affairs and the next time during a dialogue with him he will offer the title of a thana, provide a personal bodyguard - huscarl and advise you to buy a house. But even approaching the jarl, it is impossible to take the throne of the ruler, you cannot even kill him - these characters are important for the game.
From time to time on the forums and in articles about the game Skyrim "secret information" appears on how to become a Jarl. For example, there were rumors that after completing all the tasks of the Night Mother after completing the main quest of the Dark Brotherhood, you can get the coveted title. Of the 54 tasks, according to this information, in the last one, the Night Mother ordered to kill Jarl Whiterun, after which you can take his throne. But persistent players have tested this possibility and found that it is not.
How to become a Jarl?
There is only one way to become a Jarl in Skyrim - with the help of unofficial mods for the game. In one of them, you can become the Jarl of the new city of Riverhelm, and not only get a beautiful title, but also really take up the government: collect taxes, invest in the development of the city, and develop trade.
Another mod allows you to become a jarl of the city of Ivarstead that already exists in the game, for this you need to go through a long, but exciting quest. After receiving the coveted throne, you can take up the management of the city and the castle: punish residents, keep order, throw parties in the palace.
