Nick is a word or combination of characters that replaces a name when communicating on the Internet. Nick will be asked to find in order to register in the game, on the forum, on any other resource. In different situations, you can use different nicknames or remain "faithful" to one Internet name - this is the free choice of any user.
Before coming up with a nickname, you need to decide for what purpose it will be created.
"Pass" nicknames
If a nickname is needed only in order to take advantage of all the possibilities of some Internet resource on which it is not supposed to actively communicate with other users, the nickname can be anything. The only requirement for it is uniqueness, i.e. there should not be a user with this name on this resource. If the selected nickname is free, the program will inform you about it during registration and all you have to do is not forget what name you use on this or that site.
Nicknames for communication or play
There are already more requirements for Internet names for such purposes, because if communication is supposed to be in the game, or on the forum, you need to make sure that it is at least convenient for other users to contact you, so the nickname should be easy to remember and reproduce. Based on these considerations, the following are categorically not suitable:
- a set of numbers or a meaningless combination of any symbols;
- Latin spelling, which causes an ambiguous reading;
- nickname that cause persistent negative associations (unless you achieve just such an effect).
You can use, although not desirable, a combination of your own name and its derivatives with the date of birth, other numbers that are meaningful to you. Such nicknames will make you almost faceless, because numbers are not remembered as well as names or significant words, and it will not be so easy for users to tell who is communicating with them, Katya2012 or Katya 0507.
It is undesirable to use the exchange, consonant with the theme of the forum or game. So, at the women's forum dedicated to family and parenting issues, there are countless "moms" and "mummies" in various variations. Should I become one of them?
It is better to take some not-so-well-known name of a literary character, film hero, or just an easy-to-read foreign word with a suitable meaning, or try to “invent” a beautiful combination of sounds that has no meaning, but is easy to pronounce.
You can also use Russian nouns, creating a descriptive nickname. It is only important that it be unusual, sound good and, if possible, somehow reflect your character or the role that you have chosen for yourself on this or that resource.

If you work on the Internet, then the best option is to use your real name and surname when creating a nickname. Here options are possible:
- spelling of the name and surname in full;
- the use of a truncated form of the first or last name (the method is used if the first and last name are too common);
- a nickname created from letters, syllables, parts of the first and last name.
You can take just a neutral combination of syllables and sounds, easy to pronounce and remember - perhaps it will eventually become a brand!
