Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "My Computer" item to perform the operation of clearing the hosts file.
Step 2
Expand the C: / Windows / system32 / drivers'etc folder and open the context menu of the hosts file by right-clicking (for WIindows XP).
Step 3
Select "Open with" and select "Notepad" in the list of programs that opens (for Windows XP).
Step 4
Clear the contents of the file and exit the application (for Windows XP).

Expand the root folder C: / Windows and find the notepad application (for Windows Vista and Windows 7).
Step 6
Call the context menu of the found application by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Run as Administrator" command (for Windows Vista and Windows 7).

Specify the path C: / Windows / system32 / drivers / etc in the Open File menu of the notepad itself and enter the hosts value in the File test line (for Windows Vista and Windows 7).

Click the "Open" button and clear the contents of the selected file (for Windows Vista and Windows 7).

Call the context menu of the avz application by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Run as Administrator" item to perform an alternative method for clearing the hosts file.

Open the "File" menu in the upper toolbar of the program window and go to the "System Restore" item.

Specify the command "Perform marked operations" and restart the computer to apply the selected changes.

Use the HijackThis program for another method of clearing the hosts file and run it as an Administrator using the procedure described above.

Expand the Main Menu in the top toolbar of the application window and go to the Open the Misc tools section.
